Status: | Active, open to new members |
Leader: | |
When: | on Tuesday mornings 1st/3rd Tuesday on Zoom, 4th Tuesday in person when needed |
Venue: | Southwick Village Hall |
The Computer Club has been running since at least 2010, Some early meetingsbnearly filled Southwick Hall and the group has now settled to between 15 and 25 people.
The arrival of the lockdown forced meetings online on Zoom and we continue to do so today as most members now prefer this.
However, there are some problems that require hands on solutions so we have supplemented the usual Zoom meetings with occasional physical meetings as required.
We cover a wide range of computer related technology and equipment which include Desktop and Laptop Computers using Windows and Apple Operating Systems [and sometimes Linux], Tablets of all types, Telephones, Internet and Networks, and lots more.
We still meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings but now on Zoom. We reserve the 4th Tuesday morning for any physical meetings that may be required.
The format of the meetings is;-
- Initial 30 minutes – Problem solving and discussion
- Middle 1 hr – Computer related talk by a volunteer
- Final 1 hr – More problem solving as required.
To avoid disappointment please do not attend any events, group meetings or monthly meetings as a visitor unless you have, in advance, contacted the event organiser / group leader.
