We will leave Trowbridge around 9.00am for the short trip to Yarnmouth, home of Chedworth Roman Villa, arriving around 11am.
You will have about two hours to explore the villa, believed to be one of the grandest Roman remains in Britain, with many mosaics on show. Chedworth is cradled in the beautiful Cotswold Valley. The site has a cafe, and a gift shop where you can collect an audio guide.
Around 12.30 we will depart for Cirencester and the Corinium Museum (Corinium is the Roman name for Cirencester). The museum displays items from prehistoric times through to the Victorian era in the local and surrounding areas. There is also a gift shop, cafe and toilets. The Corinium is situated in the centre of Cirencester. You may also wish to visit the New Brewery Arts Centre or the many little streets and shops. With many places to eat or just have coffee.
The cost for this trip is: £17.00 which includes the coach fare and driver’s tip.
Chedworth is a National Trust property and therefore free o NT members: for non-members the cost is £13.20 payable on the day. Entry to the Corinium Museum is £6.10 – again, payable on the day should you wish to visit. Please note: Booking will open no earlier than 9am on Tuesday 17th October 2023.
