NEW GROUP ADVISORY FROM GROUPS COORDINATOR

If you are interested in such a group please contact me at the email address below stating if you have any knowledge of the language and to what level.
If there is enough interest I will follow our procedure for forming the group.
River Power – Anthony Battersby
Using local Rivers to produce Green Energy.
Late breaking news.
Dickon has had a couple of people pull out of his Photoshopping beginners workshop on 4th October.
Hence he has two spare places and asks if there are any late takers.
The original magazine entry follows.
Learn how to scan and enhance old photos and slides.
If you have NEVER done anything like this before, this is for you.
I bet you have loads of old slides and photos that have faded or are torn etc.
You do not need to be a computer whiz. You only need a lap-top (Windows or Mac) and a mouse to get started with a fun and sociable group.
Please do not join if you have experience. This is for total beginners.
I will be starting 8 weekly Friday sessions from Friday 4th October 2019 1
These fun sessions are essentially for total BEGINNERS.
A laptop is necessary; however I have a couple of spares.

Lacock Walk 29th August.
Following a recce, a few points. If you read this and know of walkers in the group who do not access emails, please pass on this information to them.
There is a climb of some 300 feet onto Bowden Hill.
Near the start of the walk, we have to follow a relatively busy road with no pavement for 700 yards from the River Avon at Lacock out to the Bell Inn by Bewley Common.
There are quite a few stiles on the walk, several of which cannot be avoided by using an adjoining gateway.
The NT car-park costs £4 but is free if you are a member. If you are not in the NT but have a bus pass, there is a half-hourly bus service from Trowbridge to Melksham and Chippenham that passes through Lacock, stopping at the George Inn. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the NT car-park where the walks begins.
Do not let this put you off! It is an excellent walk with great views across much of North and West Wiltshire.
National Memorial Arboretum and Lichfield Cathedral

We will leave Trowbridge early, first pick up is 7am. Firstly we will visit Lichfield Cathedral for about 1.5hrs. Leaving time for coffee and a self guided tour of the cathedral or town. It is important that you are at your pick up point on time. Do not change it without prior agreement with the Trip Leader. I suggest you pack snacks and water as this will be a long day. We will make a comfort stop both ways.
