Tai-Chi

Status: Active, open to new members
Group Leader:
When: Weekly on Tuesday mornings
Venue: Scout HQ Southwick

Tai Chi expert Brian Wooding captures the very essence of this ancient Eastern practice which gently exercises the whole body, while invigorating the mind and enriching the spirit.

Up to 18 devotees enjoy an hour of exercises, then an hour of Yang-style “form”, an unbroken series of slow, graceful movements which improve breathing and circulation, stimulate vital organs, mobilise the joints, promote longevity and prevent degenerative disease.

Still not convinced? Then read Aldous Huxley’s perfect description of Tai Chi in his novel, Island: ‘No leaps, no high kicks, no running. Feet always firmly on the ground
….movements intrinsically beautiful and at the same time charged with symbolic meaning. Thought taking shape in ritual and stylised gesture. It’s meditation in action.’

He was spot-on! And after just a few sessions you really will begin to feel more alive, content and responsive!

Tuesdays, 9.30am to 11.30am.

To avoid disappointment please do not attend any events, group meetings or monthly meetings as a visitor unless you have, in advance, contacted the event organiser / group leader or Membership Secretary (for monthly meetings), Thank you.
