Science & Engineering 11th February 2020 – History and Engineering of the Moulton Bicycle Company

In 1962, buoyed by the success of his rubber cone suspension on the BMC Mini, Alex Moulton launched the Moulton bicycle. Today the company still makes it’s unique high-tech bicycles from it’s works in Bradford on Avon.
Our speaker is Dan Farrell, Group Technical Director at the company. His illustrated talk will recount the story of what Norman Foster acclaimed as “the greatest work of twentieth century British design”. Dan is an accomplished cyclist, and is known for his technical and travel writing.
The meeting is held at the Progressive Hall, North Bradley, BA14 0SX at 2:30 pm this Tuesday.
This is a change of speaker. The talk on 5G mobile phones will take place later in the year.
